Kiasu Architect who is Quite Kamcheng and Practices Kaizen…

9 Jul

I was searching for an architect to design my future house (in my dream)… My ideal architect must have the following criteria before he/she will be hired:-

1. Must be a local grown architect and speaks Hokkien, like my dad;

2. Always striving to be better than the rest, like Singaporean;

3. Never ending effort to improve, like Japanese;

4. Most importantly, must be able to build rapport with me.

And yes, I found the right person !! How? Use Google laaa…

Mr. Laurent Lim, will be the right person to design my dream house…

The company’s philosophy are:-

Kamcheng – word originating from Penang Hokkien, meaning “the fine art of harmonious rapport and good networking with clients, authorities and associates/ consultants in general”.

Kiasu – colloquial Singapore Hokkien term, meaning “the state of mind to work hard and great determination to succeed”.

Kaizen – Of Japanese origin, meaning “to be constantly one’s skill and services and strive for innovative and creative solution to serve client’s needs”

Lesson we can learn:- Kamcheng and Kaizen are virtues. Kiasu is good too as long as it is not based on the spirit of covetousness and at the expense of others!
