A Date @ KLCC

28 Feb

If you guys notice, I have not written for a couple of weeks now. I have been quite busy with a lot of things and thanks to Juleen for her continuous posting, or else blueepinkk.com will be a dead blog! Since, I am busy (so is Juleen to a certain extend), we rarely date anymore. But to keep the relationship healthy going forward, we decided to spend more quality time by going out again. Yesterday, Juleen came over to KLCC for the Isetan sales and she got some stuffs. Frankly speaking, the deal is fantastic and this is coming from a person who doesn’t believe in SALES because he believes SALES are all con job. So if I think it is a fantastic deal, it is really that FAN-TAS-TIC!!! The sales is ongoing until April..so quickly go grab something from Isetan!

After the shopping session (which always seem long to me), we went for some photoshooting. The last time we took pictures of KLCC was many months ago and that was when we did not have a tripod and a good lens. Therefore, I was really looking forward for this short photoshooting session. I knew Juleen is going to find it boring as much I find shopping is boring..haha! But that is how relationship works, isn’t it?

Cut short the crap…here are some of the pictures we took (click on the pictures to appreciate):-

1. Suria KLCC at night…

2. Another interesting angle of KLCC…

3. The date will not be complete without couple shot of us. I love this picture though it is not really perfect…

4. Another couple shot at extremely high ISO…hehe!

I took a few more pictures when we were about to leave and realized one thing… the pictures can be very interesting when there is moving cloud above of KLCC. So what I did was, I leave the shutter open for 20 – 30 seconds to capture the effect of the moving cloud above KLCC and here are the results… my favorite!!

5. The night cloud…

6. Another one…

Overall it was another good outing with Juleen…yeahhhhh

The Apartment @the Curve

24 Feb

Last night we went on a date to the Curve. But first stop, RY needs to go for a haircut. He keeps complaining his hair is messy, getting longer and becoming ugly…

Then only we head down to the Apartment to have some quality time together :-)

We went straight to the desserts and beverages.

Me enjoying the Baileys Cheesecake…

RY with his new hairstyle,  enjoying his cuppa green tea.

At the end we had a wonderful night out together. The cheesecake wasn’t that great, plus it was $15.90… not worth it, I would say Secret Recipe has better cheesecake comparing to their cheesecake and half the price. The flavor was ok but we didnt liked the texture, it was alil stiff. The ambience, the mood everything else was nice!

Blessings

19 Feb

For the past few weeks, I felt so blessed. Things has been falling into the right places. God has blessed me and Ry abundantly. Firstly I wanna thank God for His grace and goodness that I was given the opportunity of a new job that I’ve tried very hard for some time. Not for His supernatural power I won’t have that chance. I almost lost hope while waiting for the reply. I’ve waited for a month exactly from the day of interview, they only called me out of the blue, kinda long don’t you think so for a job offer… anyhow It will definitely be a good career advancement for me and the increment is reasonable too for me as I don’t have much experience in that setting. Praise God!

Next is we have set our date for our wedding and booked our venue for the banquet. ( venue will be shared later). It will be on the 28th November 2009.

Also, I have found my bridesmaids dresses unexpectedly and the color matches my wedding theme. I’m not sure how many bridesmaids I will have but I’m thinking of 3…

Then I’m already eyeing on a few wedding gowns and evening gown after some time of searching and trying. :-) It’ll be a surprise until the wedding day.

Pre-wedding and actual day photography we already made reservation.

I guess the major preparations have started rolling, another 9 more months to go to our special day…yeahhhh!

Everything seems to be going on smoothly, and we’ll just have to work out on the finances, that’s the most headaching part :-( …. $$$$$

But with God on our side, I believe He will help us through any hardship.

Valentine’s Day

14 Feb

Today is Valentine’s Day. Nothing really great to start with because I had to work from 7:30am-4:30pm, sad huh… while RuehYinn spend his daytime at home.

Then as usual we will have dinner with my family. After dinner, it is OUR time… hehe. This time we went to try out a new cafe at 1 utama called the garden. (not the Gardens at Midvalley ya!!!)

The Garden is a lifestyle concept store and cafe with Voir Gallery. (the clothing brand Voir) The setting is like in a garden. I personally like the setting but RuehYinn was complaining about it- trying to be one but not exactly, you know not up to standard yet… ouch!

Anyways the drinks we ordered:

Ice Mocha

Ice Cappuccino

My ice cappuccino was ok, but RuehYinn’s mocha tasted alil weird, he said he can’t taste the coffee, just chocolate with ice…

Anyhow, I believe it’s not about the food or expensive gifts, what’s most importantly we get to spend some quality time together! Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

BGF photos

9 Feb

Today is Thaipusam holiday for all of us. We took this day to just go out to take some BGF photos…actually we wanna use the photos to enter a contest. Taking photos were rather tough because we don’t have a photographer with us, the only photographer is us :-(

Anyhow the day didn’t turned up that well as we expected it would be, sad to say but still, some photos that I wanna share…

Cameron Highlands with S3 (Day 2)

8 Feb

30/01/09

The next morning I woke up pretty earlier. I grabbed RY to accompany me to the nearby mini market to get some eggs for making sandwich. Some of my cell members are still sleeping. Gosh, apparently they played till 3:30 am…

Guess who are these two people under the duvet?

Me choosing the eggs for the breakfast…

Left over from the breakfast, shortly after…hehe

After breakfast before checking out, we had to pose for group photos…

The Guys (Jarance, Kevin, SeanBein, Lex, RuehYinn)

The Girls (Sophie, Jolene, Jenli, Alicia, Juleen)

Without wasting much time, we headed to the Cameron Valley by Bharat Plantation. There are many other tea plantations in Cameron but Cameron Valley by Bharat Plantation has the best view where you can sit down by the side of the cafe and enjoy the beautiful view of tea plantation.

Again the guys outside the Cameron Valley..

Before we sit down to enjoy the tea, our first mission is to take pictures. The view is just too irresistible not to take picture!

The tea valley…

Photos, photos, and more photos…

RuehYinn and myself…

The 1st group…

and the 2nd group…

and lastly, Jolene and I…

Then not to forget to enjoy a cup of tea after visiting the tea plantation, overlooking the tea valley and feeling the soft breeze of cool air… ahhhhh, how I wish KL weather’s is like that!

After visiting the tea plantation, we dropped by another strawberry park (the one we so intent to go originally) called Strawberry Moment along the way downhill…

Rows and rows of strawberry plants

They also grow hydroponic vegetables at the farm, very very fresh!!

Jolene and Alicia enjoying picking strawberries…

Jarance and Sophie…

Everyone is allowed to pick the strawberry for free but not the strawberries though. For every 500g of strawberries you pick you have to pay RM20 which I think is quite reasonable for once in a lifetime experience. RuehYinn and I weren’t interested to pick the strawberries, however, we went to the cafe to taste the Tea and Scones. yummy… you have to try the scones here with the fresh strawberry jam and cream.

I love pastries so I had to try them!

Put some butter on the scones…

Lex enjoying his strawberry waffles…

We stayed at Strawberry Moment for few hours, paid for our strawberries and vegetables and left for the last destination. This destination is recommended by Jarance and it was so interesting that RuehYinn and I decided to post it on the next post…

At the mean time, RuehYinn is currently busy editing the Cameron Highland’s photo album. We would like to invite you to view some of our pictures in the partially completed album below:-

Cameron Highlands Trip with S3 (Day 1)

5 Feb

29/01/09

It’s been ages since the last time I visited Cameron Highlands. I remembered I was in primary school time and I went with my family to Cameron Highlands… staying at some resort, somewhere near Strawberry Park… ahh, nevermind, I vaguely remember the detail anymore!

This time we went to Cameron Highland with our cell group S3. There were 10 of  us!! The sad thing about it is this was going to be our last trip with S3′s cell group since we have multiplied. Jolene, RuehYinn and myself will moved to a new cell group under S8. This trip just came timely before we officially attend our first cell group meeting in 2009. It would be remembered as the sweetest gathering between 3 of us and the rest of the group members. We have been together since 2006 and time really flies…

We gathered at Jenli’s house at 8am and “pai nien” (english: Chinese New Year’s house visitation) at the same time. It would be my first time too to step into Jenli’s house. While waiting for other cell group members we help ourselves with Jenli’s Chinese New Year cookies and on top of that each of one us got an “ang pau” (english: red packet) from Jenli’s mum. Thank you Jenli and aunty…hehehe!

After praying for journey mercy we left before 9am…

Praying for journey mercy…

The journey was long (took us more than 3 hours) not because it was far but because the road to Cameron Highland is so winding and since it was school holiday, the road was jam packed with cars.

When we arrived at Cameron Highlands it was over 12pm, and the first thing was to check into the apartment we’ve booked few weeks earlier. We booked a 3 bedroom apartment provided by Hill View Inn. I strongly recommend this apartment if you have more than 8 people in the group. It is a huge apartment. In total, each of us only paid RM45 per pax for a night stay. The room is furnished with sofa, magazines, television, Hi – Fi and even kitchen though you have to share with another group. The apartment is located at Tanah Rata and you will not have problem looking for food, banks and even Starbucks…

The journey is slow…

Not to forget to pray for safety at Cameron Highland.. (a lot of people credited on this shot)

Since none of us had a proper breakfast other than having some CNY’s cookies at Jenli’s house, the next thing in mind is to hunt for lunch. As mentioned, you will not have problem finding places to eat. You can get Indian food, Malay food, Western food, Chinese food… you name it and you have it. Best of all, the prices are reasonable. Since it was holiday season, all the restaurant was very packed too but we’re fortunate to find a place to fill our stomach.

The group after a satisfying lunch, everyone is happy… :-)

After lunch, we proceeded to the Kea’s Farm. Our main objective is to try the famous fried mushroom, sweet potatoes balls and fried sweet potatoes. Every packet is sold only for RM2.00 – RM3.00 depending on what you buy. Very affordable and I guarantee you, you will not have enough..

The shop that sells the best fried mushroom, sweet potatoes ball and fried sweet potates… beware of counterfeit ! People have to queue for the sweet potatoes ball I tell you.

RuehYinn with his yummy fried sweet potatoes…

After that we quickly ran back to our cars under the rain to go to our next destination, the strawberry farm. Since the road is was so overly congested to go to the strawberry farm that we wanted to go (more on Part 2), we had to detour to go to the nearest strawberry farm instead. The first strawberry farm would be the Raju’s but it was closed at 4.30pm and since it was raining, there is no strawberry plucking allowed. So if you happen to go to Cameron Highland, avoid raining season and don’t go too late. Anyway, the shop at Raju’s is still open, we took the opportunity to taste some of the  local strawberry products like:-

Strawberry Ice Cream..

Ahhh, strawberrycakes and little cupcakes… (we didn’t try them though)…

We simply can’t resist the strawberry ice cream…hehehe!

Finger licking good ya Jolene?!

Sweet picture of us…

Not satisfied we then moved to the nearby strawberry farm, the EQ Strawberry Farm. However we met with the same fate, the farm is closed and you can only see the strawberry plants from the outside and no picking on that day. Feeling a little despair (hahaha, no lah…since this is not the farm we intended to go anyway), we only get to take few pictures…

The group (without Lex) at EQ Strawberry Farm…

Another one, which turn out to be RuehYinn’s favorite…

We drove back after that since it was already late and not much attractions left. The whole journey took us more than an hour for just a 8km stretch of road. That was how bad the traffic at Cameron Highland. Therefore, the moral of the story is never never go up to Cameron Highland during peak period. The first day itself, we spent more than half of the time on the road but it was all good since we have a really good laugh in the car…

We had our own steamboat dinner in the apartment and I find it complements best with the cold weather at Cameron Highland. Seriously, if you were to open up all the windows and sliding doors, you don’t need to air-conditioner anymore in the apartment.. it was like spring weather…really nice.

The steamboat…

Eat, eat, eat…

Next we proceed to play game, thanks to our game master… Ms. Jolene, who never fail us with good card games. This time she introduced Citadels to us. It was pretty difficult to understand the rules and roles of the game initially, what more to play the game. But after we got familiar, some of us got so addicted with the game until they ended sleeping at 3.30am and one of them is RuehYinn…poor him, he woke up next morning with big panda eyes…hehehe!

The most interesting and addictive game!!!!

Come … let’s play and strategize..hehe!

One day at Cameron Highland just passby in a blink of eyes! More of Cameron Highland in the second post. Click on the following link for the partially completed album of S3′s Cameron Highland trip. I am currently editing on a few more pictures, need few more days before finish editing the whole pictures. At the mean time, please enjoy:-
