It’s 5 Months and 15 Days Away…

12 Jun

Yes, it is only 5 months and 15 days from my BIG DAY. Judging from the frequency I write I am sure you guys can figure out I am too lazy, too tired, and too occupied to write. But I thought I just wanna write how I feel now at this hour. It is already 1.20am in the morning…

Seeing each day pass by and knowing I am going to have my own family soon always make me very excited. But there is one thing which I am not excited about (sorry for saying this dear), that is, getting myself so occupied preparing for the D-Day. I was just thinking why can’t people in the past, makes thing easy when comes to marriage. Why need to prepare so many things, make a big fuss about it before one CAN MAKE A FAMILY…I guess I will never understand. Maybe it is not just me..maybe it is the GUYS’ thing.

Anyway, from the bottom of my heart I know I am not complaining. In fact, I am excited! I wanna move into a new phase of my life… It is time and I think both of us are READY..

Over the past 1 – 2 months, both of us have been very busy preparing for our wedding. Here are some of the major things we have done during this period:-

1. We sold our 1st Property at Kota Kemuning – Both of us think this is the best decision we ever made. Buying this house provides us an avenue to “naturally” save for our wedding. When people say buy property because it will act as a force saving, it is true, trust me. God must be working in our lives, because we were able to sell this house via a simple post in blueepinkk.com in just 2 – 3 weeks. Best of all, we save 2% agent fee (that’s a lot of money by the way). Next…

2. Bought our 2nd Property at Tropicana - With the proceed from the sale, we can now afford to purchase a nice condominium at Tropicana with a reasonable price. I know everyone was shocked to hear we bought a new property 2 weeks after selling our 1st property. I was shocked myself. We knew we were running out of time, so we narrowed down our options, visit those places over and over again, do our homework/research till late night until we come down to 1 property both of us can agree. We have to say, we are fortunate to buy this condominium at a SUPER REASONABLE price. Next…

3. Legal and Bank – Selling and buying house can never escape from dealing with legal and banks. They cost a lot of money too. The thing I hate about this part is you have to deal with different people and have to prepare a lot of documents. But overall, I learnt great deal of stuffs here. Learning will only happens when you get your hand dirty. Now that we have a house, we need…

4. Renovation – No, we aren’t doing major renovation. 1st, we don’t have so much money to do major renovation. 2nd, we don’t think this is our ultimate staying place, so why spend so much money. Nevertheless, we are committed to make our house as comfortable as possible. Only one thing we need to watch out, that is, BUDGET. The test now is to make sure we don’t spend more than 10% of the house value on renovation. That is my reminder to Juleen all the time…hehe!

Now that is pretty much what we have done so far and the next 5 months will be divided into:-

1. Marriage Preparation like sourcing for wedding card, food tasting, arrangement with church, pre-wedding photography session and many more…

2. Getting our Love Nest ready. I think we have basically got 65-70% of the things already. We just need to get the keys in the next 2 – 3 months and start to furnish the condominium.

So what I have learnt during this period?

- I learnt give and take is the key to make things happen. It was a shame to even mention how many disagreements and arguments we had during this period. But thank God we realized it quick enough to know it was bad for relationship. Therefore, we decided to keep and open mind, do not be too fixated with our own ideas and start to give and take.

- I learnt to respect each other. There is no way you can give and take if you can’t respect each other. For me especially, I keep reminding myself that whatever Juleen decides, it was intended for the betterment of us (it may wrong decision, though), but I need to respect her opinion before discussing my idea with her. We want to respect each other and hear from each other.

I just wanna end this post by telling Juleen:-

Thank you for starting this journey

and we will end it the way

we want it…

Love You!

Goodnight…
