Decided to Continue…

27 Jul

For the past 6 weeks, I have been contemplating whether I should renew my web hosting. That explain why, my blog wasn’t online during that period. RM180 for 2 years, may not sound like a lot of money but because we have not been actively updating my blog, to pay RM180 does not sound like a good idea at all.

However, there is something keeping me from holding back. This tag “blueepinkk” is very close to my heart. Not sure why. My wireless internet is labeled as blueepinkk. My external hard disk is labeled as blueepinkk. I get super excited when I see any items that have blue and pink color together. Eventually I closed my eyes, login to my internet banking and transferred the required amount to continue the web hosting. This post represent 2 years + 6 weeks since my wife and I started blogging. We did very well when come to updating the first year and not too well in the second year.

Busy-ness, new life after marriage, new boss and frequent missing post due to web hosting problem do discourage me a bit. Like everything, I guess consistency and discipline are very important. I shall re-try again and I should encourage Juleen to re-try again. I guess since Juleen is conceived with Blueepinkk Jr. and we’re like 300km apart, finding ideas to blog shouldn’t be that difficult.

For me, it has been my longest desire to revamp the whole website. I wanna change the theme of the website, I wanna change all the categories, I wanna write more about my feeling and share my interest instead of just a blogging about what we did. The latter is kinda boring after a while. Once my friend told me, who wants to read about your life??! That’s true.. I am nobody…

So my ideal blog should be for my self consumption primarily and not others. In the past, I was kinda scare to share my feeling and interest and only wrote what I did. That’s kinda boring…..

Well we will see how it goes from here…

After So Long..

17 Apr

After so long not updating my blog and getting usual tease like “you are still on your new bedsheet”, I decided I might as well start writing…

Not too sure why I feel like doing so especially when I just came back from Taiwan and not feeling exactly very energetic. Anyway, the first thing I wanna do is to change the outlook of my blog, however, after a feel browse, I don’t seem to find something I like. I prefer minimalist style… so at the mean time I will stick with current themes.

Next I wanna clear some of the adverts that are on my blog. Google Adsense is definitely useless for sure. I am kicking that out. After so long, I only earned USD12. What the heck..hehe! Next is Advertlets… surprisingly.. I am qualified for cash out. I have RM102 in the account. So I have done my cash out process and see whether I get the payment or not. So for now, I am keeping the advertlets on my blog…

Not bad, keeping Advertlets since I am getting paid everyday ranging RM0.10 – RM0.30 a day.. Hehe! You know there is this old Malay proverbs that say… sikit - sikit, lama – lama jadi bukit?

Just a simple update. Need to do some household chores, then ping pong later…

Congratulation Cheryl and Colin…

8 Aug

It was like yesterday when I recall I had tuition class with Cheryl at my house for our SPM preparation. That was 12 years ago. And now she is married. It’s amazing how time flies…

I am extremely happy for Cheryl. I think she is one of those friends I have who are able to keep the boy-girl relationship until their marriage. Frankly, I barely know or even spoken to Colin but I knew him long time ago through my conversation with Cheryl. If I was not mistaken, Cheryl has been attached to this man since the college time and that was way before I had my first girlfriend…

That is how long they have been together…

Cheryl, like Caryn (fourth from left) and Cristin were all my twin sister’s school friend. They were all Convent Peel Road’s graduates. That explained why I am the only man in the picture other than the groom…

If not for my sister I would have miss the opportunity to make some good friendships. Not sure what makes us click… maybe it is due to the fail courtship (long story…), the sharing, the gossips or the crap we talk each time we meet up (once in the blue moon…).

Anyway…

Wedding is always good because this is the only time where all the friends will gather together and provide me the opportunity to do catch up with friends, especially the long lost one…

Well, many more weddings in the pipeline this year including mine…

I wonder what is the next BIG thing I will hear from my friends?

Baby full moon parties??

We will see…

What a Friday… (SYABAS, TNB and etc)

1 Aug

Right after the Puspakom and JPJ ordeal which surprised us with their service, our next trip was to TNB and SYABAS to cancel our account since we’ve already sold our Kota Kemuning’s house. So how to cancel TNB and SYABAS account? Here are the steps…

1. Find the nearest TNB/SYABAS branch. You can check bill for the address. For my case, it’s at Klang. We’re fortunate to have Jarance directing us to the place over the phone. This dude virtually remember every details along the road. No wonder he is a Cell Group Leader. Therefore, do your homework before you go if you don’t want to get lost…

Tips: Make sure bring along your deposit receipt there to request for refund!

2. Then inform the information counter that you want to cancel your account. They will hand you a form. Fill it and wait your number to be called…

3. For TNB, you need to wait for 2 months before you’ll receive your deposit back. Whereas SYABAS is a month quicker than TNB. We aren’t sure how true is their promise. We’ll see…

Expect a cheque from TNB in 2 months. Whereas for SYABAS, if your deposit is less than RM300, you have the choice to request them to deposit directly into your bank account or you come and collect yourself. Tips: Bring along your bank account number. Anything more than RM300 will be returned in the form of a cheque.

Verdict: Apparently privatization works in Malaysia. The procedure is such a ease that even a kid can do and the staffs are very informational, serve us with a smile. But what really matter to us was the speed and they didn’t fail… I am impressed!!

Kudos to you guys…

Because Puspakom, JPJ, TNB and SYABAS were faster than we expect, we have the time to do our banking…

And since banking is also fast, we have time for our afternoon movie on the BIG SCREEN. We watched The Proposal. Very interesting and it is definitely a MUST WATCH LIST for everybody… Juleen loves it so much…

Then we visited the Malaysian Property Expo 2009 at Midvalley. We’re so intrigued with one property that we drove to their showroom in PJ and visited the actual site. It was such a great deal but too bad, both of us don’t quite like the surrounding…

Next is our dinner… I proposed to eat at the famous Hokkien Noodle cooked using charcoal at Taman Paramount. My favorite place for Hokkien Noodle. It was Juleen’s first time there…

I hope my recommendation did not fail her. We had Loh Mee, Hokkien Mee and Satay… yum! yum!

Next we got eight (8) Bak Chang at the nearby shop for our family… Apparently my mum loves it!!

We definitely had a very productive Friday. An annual leave that was worth taking. That is why I called it “WHAT A FRIDAY…”  We :-

1. Had our car inspected at PUSPAKOM,

2. Did ownership transfer and renew roadtax at JPJ,

3. Cancelled account at TNB,

4. Cancelled account at SYABAS,

5. Did our banking with ALLIANCE BANK.

6. Watched The Proposal at MIDVALLEY,

7. Visited the MAPEX and visit the actual site at PETALING JAYA,

8. Had our dinner at TAMAN PARAMOUNT,

9. BOUGHT Bak Changs for our FAMILY….

No wonder Juleen slept like a PIG when she stepped into the car! What a Friday….

What a Friday…. (Part 1: Puspakom and JPJ)

1 Aug

Juleen and I decided to take a leave yesterday to run some errand. The best or should I say the “worst” thing about moving into new phase of life is you have to start to take charge of your own life. And this normally comes with a steep learning curve.

Yesterday was a series things of what I did for the first (1st) time…

1. Change Car Ownership Title…

I bet many of you have not done this before or would not attempt to do it especially knowing how much works involved. We feels the same too. But after going through all the process, we thought it is not so difficult after all. So in order to benefits our readers, we thought we just write down what’s the process like:-

1. First, go to JPJ website as follow, download and fill up all the form required (do it before you go):-

http://portal.jpj.gov.my/v5/index.php/en/ownership-transfer-guide/tukar-hak-milik-secara-sukarela

2. If you are asking third party to do it on behalf of you (brother, sister or any relatives), make sure you fill up the form TM-AB (get it from the URL above) and ask a Commissioner of Oath to verify it. Every stamp only cost RM4.00. Easy money huh for them…hehe!

3. Before you can transfer ownership at JPJ you have to send your car to Puspakom for inspection. The TIPS is, go there early. Puspakom at Padang Jawa opens as early as 7am on the weekday and Saturday and close at 7pm (weekday) and 3pm (Saturday).

As a result of waking up late and reach there by 8.30am….(we have to queue)

4. Make sure you bring enough cash. I don’t think they accept credit card. You just need RM30 for car inspection. Pay before your car is inspected. Then you will be given this form. Put it in your car…

5. The inspection should not take more than 1 1/2 hours. If you were to go there earlier, I have the feelings, you can  get it done in 30 mins. TIPS: Don’t leave your valuable items in the car.

5. While waiting, you can enjoy fried chicken and nasi lemak at a small stall inside the Puspakom like we did (hehehe) ! Seriously, their nasi lemak is nice and cheap…

6. Once it is done, grab your inspection report and proceed to the JPJ (for Padang Jawa case, the JPJ is located next to Puspakom). Bring along all the required form, take your numbers and wait…

7. When your numbers are called, tell the person in charge what you want to do. I told them I wanna transfer the ownership of the car and renew my road tax. This is another TIPS. If you are going to transfter the car ownership, you have to pay by cash. No credit card allowed. Total charge amount is RM100. If you are renewing your road tax, you can use your credit card. Pay accordingly… small car cheap road tax, big car expensive road tax. Hehehe..

7. And voila in less than 15 mins, we are done!

This is my impression:-

I feel the system has improved much compared to the past. It is much quicker, simple, the staffs are friendlier and helpful now. For the case of Puspakom, if we were to reach there at 7am… I am pretty sure the whole inspection is going to take less than 30 minutes. Plus the 15 minutes at JPJ to transfer title and renew road tax which took us only 15 minutes… the whole ordeal of car inspection to changing car ownership may take only 45 minutes.

Kudos to the Government…

What about privatization of the Electricity and Water Department? Does it help?….. (wait for the next series of What a Friday).

Gotta get ready…apparently I am the “official” photographer for the Kidz Day Out Costume Tea Party at Kelana Jaya Plaza…(haha)
