We eventually got our house key for the Lagoon Homes @ Kota Kemuning.

But too bad, we have to let it go for a house nearer to the city center. Read up on our older posts on the Lagoon Homes @ Kota Kemuning

I Know What You Did Last Weekend…

7 Sep

Like everyone else, I always look forward for weekend. Weekend means a lot for me. It’s the time for me to refresh and also to recuperate. Before I end my weekend (only 1 hour) away, I thought I would just recall what I did this weekend…

….

What did I do this weekend?

1. Attended Cell Group on Friday. Now, I know prayer is as easy as ABC!

….

2. Celebrated Jarance and Jen Li’s birthday on Friday. See what all these people did to Jarance (our CG leader)? They put clips all over Jarance’s face and attempt to pull them off one shot. The plan, however, was canceled because the pain is simply unbearable!!

Jarance… I have to tell you I am not part of the cospiracy. I was only assigned as a photographer. So don’t hate me… hehe!

Next, was the waxing legs part. Again, they pulled the tape altogether. I pity Jarance, but if they (CG members) don’t take advantage of Jarance now, then they will never have the chance to take revenge on him for all his scolding in the past..hahaha! Jarance, we know all your scoldings are good but still… (hehe)

and Jen Li happily enjoying her birthday cake… (looks adorable, like a rabbit :-) )

This month alone (though only 1 week has passed), we have celebrated 4 friends’ birthday. Happy Birthday to Sophie, Jason, Jarance and Jen Li !! In fact, many more birthday to celebrate this month including mine!

This trigger my mind to think why are there so many September babies?

My ‘intelligent’ mind came out with this theory… Since pregnancy period is 9 month, so the parents will have to “make baby” or “make love” in the month of December. Therefore, the key for the question lie on the month of December. Normally, there are a lot of holidays on the month December and when you have ample of time and no work stress, the next thing you do is to “make a lot of love” with your spouse. Correct? Hahaha… What do you think? Do you think my theory works?

.

3. Send my car for repair on Saturday morning.

So happen Jolene’s car broke down during cell group. I recommended her to this workshop in Taman Megah, whose service and pricing are pretty reasonable. We met up on Saturday morning and spent half of our Saturday waiting for our car to be done. She spent RM200 to replace the whole radiator and I spend RM98 to replace the door handle.. sigh!

.

4. Attended Sunday church service and fellowshipping. As usual, Juleen and I spend our morning in church and fellowshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We managed to watch the movie “Money Not Enough 2″ by Jack Neo. The movie is not too bad, however, you got to understand Hokkien, else you will have to read the subtitle throughout the movie.

Overall, I have a good gathering in the afternoon. And I noticed something. I noticed Jarance wasn’t “traumatized” by the Friday’s experience and I have the evidence (look below). So I guess for his next year birthday, we can up the level a bit :-) . Still can laugh “la” Jarance…laugh more!! Hahaha…

..

5. Went jogging with Juleen and BoBo. Did I mentioned I have to sweep and mop the house on every Sunday? I am fortunate to have Juleen helping me out every weekend. Since we finished our work early and still have time before dinner (she will come over to have dinner with my family every Sunday and I ‘ll do the same every Saturday), Juleen suggested we went for a jog. I agreed! Somehow nowadays, I hate staying home doing nothing… Jogging is good!

but

before we start jogging, we have to get the energy from the ice cream first… haha!

..

First picture session…

..

Second picture session… (now I wonder we were jogging or photo taking?)

..

One thing I like about Kota Kemuning is that we have all the infrastructure and facilities. One of it is the public park where all the family members can spend their weekend together feeding the fish and picnicking…

We left before the sun set! Beautiful view at Kota Kemuning’s lake…

I have beautiful weekend this week and I am ready to go back to work! Need to work extra hard, so that this year I can get a reasonable pay rise… seriously need it :-) . Nine month has passed, three more month left for this year. I wonder how much I have fulfilled my 2008 New Year Resolution…

Telekom Malaysia (TM) Not That Bad laa…

28 Jul

My mother was “furious” on Saturday morning because she cannot access the Internet. And yes, despite her age… she is an Internet user. Not once in a while type of user but very frequent type… haha !

I was out early in the morning for church prayer meeting. While I was on the road, my mum called me and “sounded” me. And yes, she is an early morning internet user TOO. This is the conversation…

Mum: Where are you?

RY: On the way to church, mum?

Mum: Wah, why you go out so often. You hardly at home… blah blah

RY: What happened mum?

Mum: The internet connection cannot be used. Wanna ask you to check also you not free… blah blah

RY: Huh? How I know what happened? Did you check the phone connection and everything?

Mum: Hello, son !! I don’t study engineering OKAY! (mum always think engineering pau kah liao**)

**pau kah liao – english: cover everything, all rounders, know everything

RY: Okay okay, I will come back before 10am and check for you !

BAMMM … (Mum slammed my handphone)

I couldn’t even focus the whole prayer meeting session. I kept thinking what will happened if I can’t solve the problem for my mum. Knowing engineering graduates don’t pau kah liao (know everything), I give a call to Telekom Malaysia (TM) to inquire…

Lo and behold, the whole Kota Kemuning was facing with the same problem. Apparently there are some problem with the line cable. The customer service who assisted me was informative, efficient and helpful. I got my answer in less than 30 seconds. He promised me, everything will be okay on Sunday morning at 7.00am

Now, I have answer for my mum! And most importantly, I don’t have to sweat myself to figure out what happen when I know nothing about telecommunication. I can drive home peacefully…

kota kemuning

On my way back, I saw…

Before the first roundabout at Kota Kemuning…

kota kemuning

Next to the first roundabout … Can you see TM’s signboard?

kota kemuning

Before the second roundabout …

There were a lot of cars and 4WD along the road. If you guessed they were from Telekom Malaysia (TM), then you are right. Seem like, they are taking things seriously that day :-) . Apparently they worked overnight and my mum had her internet connection in the morning as promised.

After the whole experience I learnt:-

1. Parents love to spent time with their children even after they have grown up and they rely on their children even on trivia matter.

and

2. Telekom Malaysia (TM)’s service has improved. Their customer service is excellent and most importantly, they accomplish what they promised. If you are one of those that have no faith in TM, give them a chance :-)

………………………………….

P/S: Of course, I’ve exaggerated a bit on the conversation part and with some sense of humor. I hardly remember the detail of the conversation and my mum will always stay as a kind and gentle lady.

Kota Kemuning – Our Future Home!

25 Jun

—Backdated Post (22 June 2008)—

Last weekend, we went to check out the newly launched Lagoon Villas. This is a two storey town house development equipped with lift for each unit in case you are taking the unit upstairs. How cool is it? This development houses only 125 units and they are gated and guarded. We visited the showroom but we were not impressed. We like the idea of low density development with good ambiance, however, we still prefer landed property for that price. The price for the town house is around RM300k plus. Probably our opinions are biased since we have bought our house in that area too, instead of Lagoon Villas it is Lagoon Homes :-) . Here are some of the pictures we took when we checked on the construction progress of the Lagoon Homes:-

1. The type A

Type A Lagoon Home

2. Type B (the one we bought)

Lagoon Home

3. Type C

Lagoon Home Type C

By the way, if you consider to purchase either a Lagoon Home or a Lagoon Villa, you will get one of this behind your house. A beautiful human made wetland.

kota kemuning wet land

I think this development is called “lagoon” because Gamuda thinks the wetland is a lagoon. They have few developments which they named them Canal Gardens, Lake Edge, and Kota Kemuning Hills. As far as I know, Kota Kemuning has hill and beautiful lake but we don’t find canal and lagoon. No wonder you can see some cynical people gathered at the launching of Lagoon Villas with special message on their T – shirt. Apparently, they are from Kota Kemuning Canal Garden Community Club:-

Whatever it is, we still like Kota Kemuning. Apparently Kota Kemuning’s tag is “The Epitome of Klang Valley’s Finest”. If you would like to find out more about Kota Kemuning you can click the link below:-

Tai Poh Mee at Kota Kemuning

24 Jun

—Backdated Post (22 June 2008)— JuleenW

Good day people… It was a beautiful Sunday morning. RuehYinn and I started our day with a good breakfast. As much as we can, we try to have breakfast together every Sunday morning before Sunday Church Service. How sweet is that? Usually, we will go to our favorite breakfast spot somewhere near his house.

restoran nts

RuehYinn ordered Wan Tan Mee and I ordered the Tai Poh Mee. I am sure that you are familiar with Wan Tan Mee, but not with Tai Poh Mee. Basically, Tai Poh Mee’s noodles are slightly thicker and curly. In a plate of Tai Poh Mee, you will find generous amount of Char Siew meat, fried Wan Tan and of course few slices of Chai Po (pickle vegs). Don’t be deceive with the appearance of Tai Poh Mee. Although it looks like Wan Tan Mee, the taste is totally different. It’s delicious especially for those who are sick of eating Wan Tan Mee. Here are the pictures of Tai Poh Mee:-

Tai Poh Mee

And here, RuehYinn’s Wan Tan Mee. Looks delicious and yummy too:-

wan tan mee

I personally love noodles more than rice. I like this Tai Poh Mee because it tastes great, and you hardly find this noodle around. In fact, this is the first time I heard of such noodle. What more at Kota Kemuning, where people claimed you hardly find good Chinese food.

The next time, you have a chance to try Tai Poh Mee in Kota Kemuning, try to dip the fried Wan Tan into the soup. Allow the soup to sip into the fried Wan Tan and soften it before eating it. That’s my favorite way of eating fried Wan Tan. Let me caution you though, if you aren’t a big eater just settle with a small bowl of Tai Poh Mee because it is very filling. I guess it is also due to the size and texture of the noodle. To tempt you guys further, here are the macro pictures of Tai Poh Mee and Wan Tan Mee… look at the Char Siew meat!! Yum Yum…

tai poh mee

And as usual, a picture of our drinks…

The price for regular Tai Poh Mee is RM4.00. For the big bowl, it is RM4.50. However, if you wanna stick with Wan Tan Mee, the regular (small) bowl is only RM3.50 and the big bowl is RM4.50. I think it is pretty reasonable especially during this time when everything is expensive due to inflation.

I recommend all of you guys that stay around Kota Kemuning to try this fantastic noodle. Even for those that are not staying in Kota Kemuning, let’s get adventurous and go try out the noodle too…Cheers!
