Michaelangelo’s @ Soho KL, Solaris Mont Kiara

Published by ruehyinn under Food and Sweets

On Monday night, Juleen and I thought of going for a date and we decided on Soho KL at Solaris Mont. Kiara. It will be our first trip to Soho KL. None of us have idea how to go there. But after a few spin here and there, we finally arrived. Since we have been to Soho at New York, we do expect to get something similar, at least to some extent. But to our dismay, a lot of shops are still vacant. Probably the area is still new but this area definitely has great potential…

Since there are not many places to go to, we decided to have dessert at Michaelangelo’s. From the outside, it does look like a posh Italian restaurant…

The interior design is very classy and the warm lighting makes the restaurant a good choice for couple who are looking quiet atmosphere. Their service is good too. The waiter and waitress are very friendly and responsive…

Despite looking posh from the outside, I’m in the opinion that the restaurant is a mid - range Italian restaurant catering for people with above average income. So, you don’t need to have deep pocket to eat at Michaelangelo’s. Once in a while, won’t kill you… hehehe!

Sweet Juleen at the restaurant…

Here are some of the food we ordered..

Tiramisu (RM15.90) - Sponge finger biscuits dipped in espresso liqueur, then layered between rich mascarpone cream, topped with cocoa powder…

Bruschetta Al Pomodoro (RM11.90) - Roasted Italian loaf topped with fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil and seasoned olive oil…

And do you know who we met at Michaelangelo’s? Our own Malaysian top model and actor, Steve Yap. When Steve walked out, I realized he is tall and and very well - built. Hmm… maybe I should go to gym :-). Who knows I will become Malaysia next male top model…haha!

Most importantly, Juleen is happy and satisfied at the end of the day… thus I am too!

Ring Hunting Day…

Published by JuleenW under Bluish & Pinkish Life

Last weekend was the Malaysia International Jewellery Fair held at KL Convention Centre. RuehYinn and I managed to visit the Jewellery Fair on Sunday after church, wanting to search for a ring. I was hoping to get a good price since most of the exhibitors are wholesalers.

MIJF 08

I have set my mind on pavé setting or micro pavé setting diamond ring. RuehYinn bought me a loose solitaire diamond, not too long ago. So now it is time for me to look for a ring to set the stone on. Hehehe.. The diamond needs a house now…

Anyway, going back to the Malaysia International Jewellery Fair. We went to different booths to look for the right ring. Walk up and down the exhibition hall but we left the Jewellery Fair empty handed and eyes almost blinded due to the “blings” from the diamonds… hehe.. We’re amazed!! There are a lot of beautiful diamonds but couldn’t find the right ring.

Anyway, micro pavé setting ring looks like this…

and this…

Aren’t they beautiful… ?

Not willing to give up yet, we extended our search to Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)…

KLCC

And I found something I like over there…In fact, both of us agreed on this “ONE RING” (let’s keep you guys suspense for a while before revealing the ring).

Anyhow, we will continue hunting around to make sure this is the best that we saw!

Our ring hunting journey continues. So stay tuned… ;-)

Before hitting the sack, I just thought of writing a post…

Juleen and I decided to visit the Eye on Malaysia tonight after having dinner with her family. This will be our first trip to the Eye on Malaysia at Titiwangsa Lake. However, it was a disappointing night for us.

We realized, our camera is not capable of capturing good pictures without proper equipments like tripod and flash… The only accessory I have in my camera bag is a mini tripod from my old-not-functionable Fujifilm Digital Camera.

Anyway, here are some of the pictures we have taken tonight…

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Broadway Musical

Published by JuleenW under Bluish & Pinkish Life

— Backdated Post (24 June 2008) —

We were blessed with tickets to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Musical Broadway yesterday. It was the premier show and of course we were very excited and looking forward for this performance. It was also the first musical play that we went together as a couple.

Beauty and the Beast tickets

I drove down to KL after work and met up with RuehYinn at KL Convention Centre. Since it was still early, we managed to do a bit of shopping at KLCC :-) .

At about 7:30 pm, we started making our way to Plenary Hall at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Along the journey, we kept discussing about what to expect of the Beauty and the Beast. It was so intense and detail that we didn’t even realized we were already at the Plenary Hall.

Beauty and the Beast 2

There was a pre-cocktail session from 6:30- 7:45 pm, but we did not have time for that, so we followed the throng of crowd into the hall. There were many people in the hall…

We were lucky that our seats were not too far away from the stage. We were sitting just 9 rows away from the stage. Look at the screen on the stage, it is so captivating…

Beauty and the Beast 3

Beauty and the Beast Broadway Musical was staged here for the first time, and this romantic story has proven to be a hit with the audience. The show did not start sharp at 8pm. However, with our excitement and joy, we waited patiently for the show to start. The seats in the Hall were almost 95% filled for that night.

At last at 8.15pm, the show began and the rest were history…

We enjoyed the show very much throughout. We were swept away by the casts’ excellent show in the musical play. However, almost at the end of the show there was a slight technical glitch but was quickly resolved.

RuehYinn tried to get some good shots during the play so that we could put them up on our blog. But most of the pictures didn’t turn out to be what we expected. Too bad we did not have a telephoto lense yet, else we could have taken nicer shots :-( . Here are some of the nicer photos. Tada…

Overall it was a wonderful and worth while experience. The costumes were awesome, the singing and dancing were beautifully choreographed, the setting and lightings were lovely. We will definitely go for more musical broadway in the future.

Hope you guys will enjoy as much as we did !
