We Love Sex but … Shhh…Quiet One!
I read the article titled ” Female Chimps Keep Quiet About Sex Lives” in the The Sun newspaper early this week and it is so humorous. This prompt me to do more research on internet. Do you know :-
- female chimpanzees love sex more than male?
- female chimpanzees keep quiet while having sex?
- female chimpanzees are “kiasu” as … (nevermind)?
- female chimpanzees are shy sly (cunning)?
We used to think that male usually fight among each other over the female. But that is not true in chimpanzee’s world. Apparently, there are no evidence that males were competing to have sex with females after they produced copulation calls (in human term - sweet talk). Studies shown that female chimps called out for sex partners as many as 12 days during their reproductive cycle, even though they were only fertile for about 4 days of it. Don’t they love sex, guys?
The question is why are they are so active in sex? The answer lies at the cunningness of the female chimps. It was found that female chimps have sex with as many mates as possible to cause confusion among the male chimps. Mr Simon Townsend who led the research said ” If you confused paternity, they are likely to provide that female with future support. They are trying to make the high - ranking males think they are the father.” Babies that are not belong to the male chimps are normally killed merciless.
1st Kiasuness: Females make a lot of copulation calls when high - ranking males (I guess macho type in human term) were around to attract them to have sex; and
2nd Kiasuness: Female chimps keep quiet during sex so that their female rivals do not find out what they have been up to.

Now, don’t you think these female chimps are really b**ch? … Probably not, they are chimp, remember?
and
don’t you think we should reconsider the saying ” As sly as fox ” to ” As sly as female chimp “?
