Pork Noodles @ SS15, Subang Jaya

11 Jan

A short blog entry from me today. I’ve got to wake up early in the tomorrow morning to attend weekly church meeting, so getting enough sleep is my utmost priority…hehe!

Allow me to introduce this infamous pork noodles at SS15…

These are few reasons why this pork noodle stall is famous (based on the survey I made):-

1. That bowl of noodles is deliciously cooked;

2. People say the owner of the stall is a bit stuck up a.k.a LCLY;

3. You have to wait 40 – 50 mins for a bowl of noodle; and

4. lastly, everybody else think they are famous…

This is what I think! If you are ever going for this noodle, my advice to you is never go there alone. No! No! It is not because the place is not safe. But the rumors is right, you indeed have to wait 40 – 50 mins for a bowl of noodle. Bring your friends so that while you are waiting, you can talk to your friends and won’t look too odd.

After 10 minutes, we are still waiting for our food. This is the prove. Jason and Kevin are not perturbed by the waiting period because they have companion…

Jen Li and Jeffrey feel the same too. Talk and talk…

And if you aren’t the talkative type, you can camwhore with your camera or camera phone, whichever works for you. James Lim and me…

After a while, the aunty will bring in the chopstick and chillies but don’t get over excited because that doesn’t mean your food is coming…hehe!!

JenLi and Jeffrey also wanted to take picture. I guess, they are out of topic..hehehe…

If you have run out of topic to talk with the person next to you, expand your circle to people next next to you…hehehe! Just remember, keep talking while waiting or else you will start to complain. :-)

Now my time to take picture with my sweetheart. She remains calm while waiting..hehehe!

If you stick to my suggestion, 40 minutes will pass like a blink of eye. When the food arrive, stop talking and start eating..hehe! Here is my verdict of the pork noodles. I like the soup a lot and I think the soup is very delicious. I am not surprise since they cook the food with generous portion of  pork intestines, liver and meat. You can’t get wrong with that…hehe! You can have a variety of noodles to go with the soup. You can have..

1. Hor Fur…

2. Lou Shu Fun and of course yellow noodles if you want…

My recommendation therefore, is to have a try at this pork noodles’ shop. I personally love the blend of the soup. The texture of the noodle is ordinary but when it comes it the soup, the bowl of noodles become extraordinary. Really!! If you are big fan of pig intestine, liver and of course pork, then you will definitely love this place. But please don’t bring your friends or family members who are not patient or else you won’t have peace finishing that bowl of noodle, what more to enjoy the food…hehe! Order before you find a seat. You will definitely find a seat before the food arrive. That’s for sure…

The big bowl is priced at RM5.50 and the small one at RM4.80. If you are super hungry, then request the aunty to add egg into the noodle but of course with extra charge…hehe! The stall is at Restoran Pomander. It is just right behind the Taylor’s Business School…

Restoran Well Cook Gourmet…

15 Sep

Last weekend after church service, as usual our cell group went to makan, and this time we visited Restaurant Well Cook Gourmet. The restaurant is just situated in SS14.

Some fact about this restaurant: It started off as a small stall in the 1987 and they offer delicious Penang taste food at a reasonable price, up to 38 dishes like in a food court but all house in a shop. The special thing about this restaurant is that, this is the only shop in whole Malaysia where you can find fried laksa. Most people came to this restaurant to have a taste of their fried laksa.

Some of the food that we ordered:

The famous Fried Laksa…

Jawa Mee…

Claypot Prawn Mee…

Overall, the food is simple but delicious. On top of that, the pricing is reasonable and the restaurant is clean. Operating hours is from 12pm to 9pm daily.

Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed, I guarantee. For more info, you can also visit their website.

Fresh Own Made Noodles @ Uncle Seng Restaurant, SS15 Subang Jaya

6 Jul

After a good Service at Church on Sunday, our Cell Group went for our usual lunch fellowship. And this time we went to a try the “Fresh Own Made Noodles” at SS15 by Uncle Seng Restaurant. This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant ever since my colleague brought me to this restaurant. However it was the first for all my church friends.

fresh own made noodles

This restaurant is located in the bustling SS15 town. It is popular because of its freshly own made noodles. Don’t be surprise if you’ll face some difficulties to find parking as Subang Jaya is notorious for its lack of parking space. However, do not be despair for the sake of a plate of good noodle :-)

Bon apetite…

friends at fresh own made noodles

These are some of the food that we ordered:

1. Curry Chicken Noodles

2. Char Siew Wan Ton Noodle

3. Braised Pork Noodle

The price for the noodle is reasonable, ranges from RM4.80 to RM 7.30. To give you guys some idea of what they offer… they have namely Char Siew Wan Ton, Curry Chicken, Chicken Feet Mushroom, Deep Fried Pork noodle and etc.

You can order in combination like Curry Chicken and Char Siew Wan Ton or Deep Fried Pork and Chicken Feet Mushroom. They have side orders too like Fried Wan Ton, Mushroom and etc.

I can’t possibly named all of the food here, however, you will get a list of food they offer once you have seated. All you need to do is to decide what you want and put the quantity in respective box adjacent to the food’s names.

At the end of the day, all of us are satisfied and enjoy our lunch… and

I ‘seem’ like marching out from the restaurant with my fellow church friends…haha… while as usual, RuehYinn, whom never appear in the picture was the photographer.

Corporate Restructuring at Kelana Jaya LRT Parking!

5 Jul

Latest Update (07/07/08): If you reach the parking by 7.40, you are at risk of not getting parking at all ! Go early…

Announcement! Announcement!

There is CORPORATE RESTRUCTURING at KELANA JAYA LRT PARKING!

1. The management in charge of the parking has changed !

2. New management = new parking rate.

Effective 1st of July 2008, the new parking rate is at RM3.00. That is 33% increase from previous rate of RM2.00.

Fuel price went up by 41%, parking rate went up by 33%, food price increase by 15%, LRT monthly pass go up by 11%… What else is going up? Who else is going to increase price? … Do it quick please… stop Killing Me Softly With His Song Price Increase.

I can’t help myself but to ask this question:-

What is the rationale behind the parking rate increase?

Is it because of the recent fuel price hike? … or all time high raw material price? How would a parking management’s operation be affected by fuel price? Or to certain extend how would their operation be affected by inflation?

The only answer I could think of is… since everything has gone expensive. Therefore, the cost of feeding the household has also increased. Since everything has gone expensive, the people (the management) who run the parking, whom I deemed have family to feed, have no choice but to increase the parking rate too.

feed family

Whether it is fair or not, it is up to you guys to decide. As for me, I’ve long accepted the fact that everything will continue to go up…

Inflation has equal ability as atomic bomb… DO YOU KNOW WHY?

1. Both have permanent effect. As atomic bomb cause permanent genetic defect, price can only go up or at best remain. It will never go down!!!

2. Both have chain reaction. Nuclear chain reaction self propagates and cause more nuclear reactions. A price hike in essential commodity will cause other things to be more expensive, thus inflation.

3. Only can only be stop/ controlled by external force. Nuclear chain reaction can only be stopped by “neutron absorber” or carbon. Inflation can only be stop when the consumers absorb the cost and eventually changing their lifestyle.

Don’t you think I am very philosophical? Hahahaha…

Yesterday they closed down the area that is most affected by potholes. Since no spokesperson from the management is available to comment…hahaha… I would assume (or speculate), they are going to repair the road soon. I am crossing my fingers…

A close up picture of the pot hole:-

Hopefully one day the road will be as smooth as:-

When the road is smooth, then my mood will be ‘smooth’ too…hahaha!

Car Wash, Sir?

Moral of the Story:-

If you are to do business:-

1. Do Monopoly business. Okay… oligopoly is acceptable too.

2. Where no one will blame you for cost pass through because of inflation and the need for you to feed your household!

Ho Kien Pan Mee at Subang Jaya SS19

10 Jun

— Backdated Post (07.06.08)— by JuleenW

This took place last Saturday morning. It was a fine, lovely morning, RuehYinn and I were yearning for something to eat. I guess it is not unusual for a couple to yearn for the same food on the same day. Haha.. So what were we yearning for? We were craving for Mee Huen Koay in Hokkien (RY is Hokkien) or Pan Mee in Cantonese ( I am Cantonese).

If you wanna know where is the best place to eat Pan Mee, other than my mum’s, it has to be at Subang Jaya SS19. The stall’s name is Ho Kien Pan Mee @ Restoran Lian Heng.

Lian Heng

When walking into Restoran Lian Heng, you’ll notice there are only a few stalls in the restaurant. If I am not mistaken you can only find the Ho Kien Pan Mee stall, one economical rice (chap fun) stall, a Chee Cheung Fun stall and a drink stall. It’s apparent that the Ho Kien Pan Mee is the source of attraction for the restaurant. Don’t be surprise if you notice almost 99% people are eating the pan mee.

The Stall

So, what’s so good about this Pan Mee?

First and foremost, it has to be the texture of the pan mee. It is thinly hand shredded and very smooth. The feeling when you put into your mouth is very unique. It is very tender and chewy. I prefer hand shredded pan mee than the machine shredded. Not only it means the cook has certain level of skills but also only with hand shredding, one is able to “pull” the dough to the right thickness…voila!

The second has to be the taste of the soup. It tastes so fresh and delicious with deep fried ikan bilis (anchovies), thinly sliced mushrooms, meat slices, minced pork and RuehYinn’s favorite cangkuk manis leaves. The blend of all the ingredients make the soup so tasty…mmMMMMmmm!

If you are chilli lover, you cannot miss their freshly made blended green chilli sauce. I love a little bit of chilli sauce on my pan mee but RuehYinn doesn’t like it. He reasoned that he wants to preserve the original taste of the pan mee. Don’t you think that is just an excuse when the fact is he cannot take spicy food…haha.

The Stall

Zoom In

In addition to all that, the price is reasonable. If I was not mistaken it used to be RM3.50 for small bowl and RM4.00 for big bowl. But that morning, the price of small bowl pan mee is RM3.80 and the big bowl is RM4.30. That is RM0.30 increased. We still can absorb the increase before getting upset and boycott the stall..hahaha.. that shows how much we love the pan mee…

Ohh, not to forget you can order sugar cane or coconut drink at the entrance of the restaurant. But RuehYinn and I still prefer hot drinks in the morning.

Milo

P.S. I have to warn you guys, however, the wait can be very very lonnnggggg. We waited for 30 minutes before getting our Pan Mee. This is the first stall that we came about that provide EQS (Electronic Queing System), MQS, we called it Manual Queing System. What happen is, after you have ordered your pan mee, you will be given a small cardboard with a number on it. Now, keep the bad habit of looking around for other people’s number. No, no.. it is not rude but it can be depressing when you see your number is so big gap compare to others. My advice is, once you order your pan mee, find a good spot, sit down, chit chat and enjoy the companion. By the way, it is RuehYinn’s advice. He said by looking around you will get high blood pressure…

Number

But I guarantee you guys that the wait is all worthwhile. So now, go start your engine and drive there now. The address is as follow:-

Ho Kien Pan Mee
Restoran Lian Heng
22, Jalan SS19/6
Subang Jaya

Time of Operation: No idea but go in the morning and I am not surprise it’s sold out in the afternoon.

The pan mee was so nice that we decided to buy back for RuehYinn’s parents and they love it so much too !

Kudos, you guys have done a good job:-
